What is awakening and what does it mean for you?
I remember going through my days feeling so lost, like I was moving through life on autopilot. I was doing all the things I was “supposed” to do like going to work, maintaining relationships, trying to be happy, but something inside me felt off. It was almost like I was disconnected from something deeper, something I couldn’t quite name.
It felt like a void, or emptiness. A mundane feeling to my days that felt difficult to escape from.
For a long time, I ignored it. I told myself I was just anxious, that everyone feels this way sometimes. But the feeling didn’t go away. If anything, it got louder. It showed up as restlessness, as sadness I couldn’t explain, as a longing for… something more.
That “something more” was an awakening.
What is Awakening?
Awakening is not a single moment of golden enlightenment or a sudden epiphany where everything suddenly makes sense. It’s not about achieving perfection or rising above the struggles of being a human. Awakening is the process of becoming aware of yourself, of your patterns, of the deeper truths that have always been within you.
It's that moment when you feel that 'something is missing'.
It’s when you begin to question things you once accepted without thought. When you start to notice how your past has shaped you, how your beliefs have been handed down rather than chosen. When you feel the pull to reconnect with yourself in a way you never have before.
And while it sounds profound (and it is), awakening is also messy. It can feel like your world is being turned upside down. The things that once felt comfortable might start to feel empty. Relationships may shift. Old ways of thinking may no longer fit.
But here’s the thing... awakening isn’t about losing yourself. It’s about finally coming home to who you truly are.
What Does Awakening Look Like?
Everyone’s journey is unique, but awakening often brings:
You have a feeling there is more to life than what is.
A Deep Desire for Truth – You start questioning the stories you’ve been told, about yourself and the world. You want to live in alignment with what feels real, not just what you’ve been conditioned to believe.
Emotional Shifts – Old wounds may surface, asking for healing. You might feel more sensitive, more aware of your emotions, or even overwhelmed by them at times.
A Sense of Disconnection (Before Reconnection) – The things that once made you feel safe or successful might stop resonating. You might feel like you don’t fit in the same spaces anymore. But this isn’t a sign that you’re lost, it’s actually a sign that you’re growing.
A Stronger Intuition – You start trusting yourself more. You notice synchronicities, gut feelings, and inner guidance leading you forward towards certain experiences or people.
A Calling Toward Something More – Whether it’s a shift in career, relationships, or personal growth, you start feeling drawn to deeper meaning, authenticity, and a life that truly reflects your soul. It's an invitation to expand as a soul because deep down you know that you deserve better.
What Does Awakening Mean for You?
Awakening is deeply personal. It’s not about following a rigid spiritual path or checking off a list of experiences. It’s about listening to yourself, to your heart, and to the quiet wisdom that has always been within you.
It’s okay if it feels confusing. It’s okay if you don’t have all the answers. Awakening isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about being open, curious, and willing to explore the truth of who you are and your values.
So, if you’re feeling that nudge, that quiet knowing that there’s more to this life than what you’ve been living... trust it. Your awakening isn’t something you have to force. It’s already happening. And the more you lean in, the more you’ll discover the beauty of what’s been waiting for you all along.
